Terms

Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and Firehouse Fundamentals when you use firehousefundamentals.com. By creating an account or buying a guide, you accept them.

1. What you get

  • A guide gives you 12 months of access from the day you buy it, with as many practice and exam tests as you like in that time. A bundle gives you each guide in it for 12 months.
  • Firehouse Fundamentals is a study aid. It does not certify anyone, and we do not promise that you will pass any exam.
  • Chapters follow Fundamentals of Fire Fighter Skills and Hazardous Materials Response, Canadian 4th Edition, the textbook MESC requires. Questions were also checked against the Canadian 5th Edition. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Jones & Bartlett Learning, the NFPA, the IAFC or any provincial certifying body.

2. Your account

  • An account is for one person. Use a real email address that you can reach, and confirm it.
  • One device can be signed in at a time. Signing in on a new device signs out the old one. This stops shared logins; switching between your own phone and laptop just means signing in again.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3. Fair use

  • The guides are for your own study. Do not share your account, or copy, record, publish or sell the questions.
  • Do not use tools to download the question bank, and do not try to get around the site's limits or security. There is a daily limit on how many questions one account can be served; real study never comes close to it.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, without a refund.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are in Canadian dollars and are shown before you pay. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.

5. Refunds

If you need a refund for any reason, email info@firehousefundamentals.com and tell us why, and we'll follow up. When a refund is issued, access to that guide ends. See Refunds.

6. Accuracy

We write and review the questions with care against the textbook, but we do not promise that every question, answer or explanation is free of errors, and standards change. If you think an answer is wrong, tell us at info@firehousefundamentals.com and we will look at it. The site is for exam study only; it is not operational guidance. On the job, follow your training, your officers and your department's procedures.

7. Our content

The questions, explanations and the site belong to Firehouse Fundamentals. Buying a guide gives you a personal licence to use it for 12 months; it does not transfer ownership. The textbook's title and the names of the organizations above belong to their owners.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the site running, but it may sometimes be down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We may improve the guides and the site, and we may update these terms; the date below shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept it.

9. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Firehouse Fundamentals is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
